Daniel Gallagher, 44, of the 1800 block of Ambler Road in Abington Township, pleaded guilty to exchanging digital child pornography with a Montgomery County man between 2023 and 2024, Mainline Media News reported.
According to the story, Gallagher used the social media messaging app Discord to share child pornographic material with Gilbertsville resident Keith A. Curtis, 64, who previously pleaded guilty to charges of possessing and distributing child pornography and conspiracy. He will be sentenced later this year to eight to 16 years in prison, Mainline Media said.
Gallagher faces a possible maximum sentence of two to four years in prison on charges including possessing child pornography, distributing child pornography and conspiracy. He also faces a 25-year requirement to report his address to state police to comply with the state’s Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act, previously known as Megan’s Law.
The investigation began in January 2024 when county detectives received a CyberTip regarding an image depicting a female child between the ages of one and three engaged in a sexual act with an adult male. The image was uploaded to a chat room on Discord, officials said.
In February 2024, police seized Curtis’ cellphone and a laptop computer via a search warrant. A forensic analysis of the laptop uncovered 11,417 image or video files “depicting children being sexually abused or posed naked.”
Curtis’ phone was found with child sexual abuse materials that were sent to Curtis by Gallagher, including images depicting underage girls in various stages of undress or sexual poses, Mainline Media said.
