Abington junior named Bucks County High School Boys Basketball Player of the Year

Xander Grasty, a junior member of the Abington Senior High School boys’ basketball team, has been named the Bucks County High School Boys Basketball Player of the Year by the Bucks County Courier Times.

An excerpt from their article:

Grasty, a quick 5-foot-11 guard, led Abington in scoring (17.2 points), was second in rebounds (4.5) and assists (3.8) and shot 54 percent on 2-point field goals. He also propelled the Ghosts to their first PIAA Class 6A playoff berth since Eric Dixon and the 2018-19 team won a game at states.

“He took us to another level,” said Abington third-year head coach Dan Marsh. “He had a breakout season for us.”

Making it to states was “dream of mine,” according to Grasty.

“It was exciting and it proved to many people that we have the talent and desire to be one of the top teams in the state,” he said.
