Abington, Jenkintown residents show support for Gov. Shapiro’s potential VP selection

As Governor Josh Shapiro decides whether he’d accept an offer to serve as Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate if she secures the Democratic presidential nomination, Philly Burbs has shared the thoughts of two local residents on Shapiro’s past efforts in Montgomery County.

Abington Township resident Mary Ellen Serbun’s testimonial can be found here. Jenkintown resident Greg Wagner’s testimonial can be found here.

According to NBC NewsShapiro did not say he would turn down the role if she offered it to him.

“It’s a decision she needs to make, who she wants to govern with, who she wants to campaign with, and who can be there to serve alongside her,” he said. “She will make that decision when she is ready and I have all the confidence in the world that she will make that decision along with many others in the best interest of the American people.”

Shapiro said they talked about how to win in November during a conversation on Sunday.

“Our conversation was all about how we beat Donald Trump and protect our freedoms here in this commonwealth,” Shapiro said.
