The Abington Educational Foundation’s four-day 30th Anniversary Carnival and fundraiser at Abington Senior High School, originally scheduled from Thursday, September 28 to Sunday, October 1, has been postponed.
According to the Foundation’s announcement, Abington School District’s new security system will not arrive in time for the carnival. A new schedule is forthcoming, and refunds will be given out:
We are sad to share that the Abington Educational Foundation and Abington School District administration have made a decision to postpone the AEF 30th Anniversary Carnival, originally scheduled for Thursday, September 28th, through Sunday, October 1st. The District is in the process of receiving bids for a new security system for large public events, which will not arrive in time for the carnival. This desire to have ample time to implement enhanced security measures—coupled with the challenges this weekend’s weather has presented AEF’s carnival operator in following their field setup schedule that was set to start on Sunday—was what led to this joint decision.
Any attendees who have pre-purchased MegaPasses will be automatically refunded. Refunds have already been issued by AEF, which should appear on buyers’ credit card statements in the next 3-5 business days.
We would like to thank our event sponsors, vendors, Host Committee, Skelly’s Amusements, and our many partners across the District, Abington Police Department, and Abington Township for their support and efforts in helping with Carnival preparations.
Thank you also to the many staff, parents, and students for signing up to volunteer at the event.
We look forward to working with you all when the Carnival is rescheduled!
