The Abington Friends School in Jenkintown will honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through their annual King Day of Service and Social Justice Symposium on Monday, January 19 from 9:00am – 12:00pm.
Participants will engage in service, learning experiences, and conversations that encourage reflecting upon their responsibilities to one another and to the wider world.
This year’s theme is titled “Let Y{our} Dream Speak”, which “asks us to listen deeply to Dr. King’s vision and to the dreams we carry as individuals and as a community,” the announcement said. “Dr. King challenged us to move beyond intention toward action when he said, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: ‘What are you doing for others?’”
On Saturday, January 17, from the AFS Lower School will host a clothing sale from 9:00am to noon to benefit the Women’s Center of Montgomery County.
