Lori Schreiber, an Abington Township commissioner (Ward 14) and Montgomery County’s Clerk of Courts, received this week the county’s Community Courage & Service Award.

“It was truly rewarding to be recognized alongside five other distinguished community leaders who embody the courage and values of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr,” Schreiber said in a post. “I look forward to continuing to serve and contribute to the betterment of our community.”
In related news, State Representative Ben Sanchez announced that Seamus Ferry, a LaSalle College High School senior and an Abington resident, received a Legislative Recognition “to acknowledge his hard work and dedication to helping the homeless population in Philadelphia.”

“It’s young people like Mr. Ferry who give me hope that our future will be filled with compassion for humanity,” Sanchez said in a statement. “Congratulations Seamus and best of luck in your future endeavors.”
