Abington, Cheltenham police hire two new officers, one of whom is a CHS grad

The Abington Township Police Department announced that Officer Justin Thomas (above left) has graduated from the Montgomery County Police Academy and has been hired by the department.


In related news, the Cheltenham Township Police Department recently hired Richard “Joe” Canally (above right) as their newest officer.

According to their post, Canally is a lifelong Cheltenham resident, a Cheltenham High School graduate and US Army veteran. He graduated from the Montgomery County Police Academy on Wednesday, December 11 after completing six months of intensive training.

Officer Canally will begin an additional 4 months of training with the department, the department said.
