Abington, Cheltenham boys’ basketball off to strong starts, will go head-to-head next week

On Thursday, December 21, the Abington Senior High School boys’ basketball team took down Upper Moreland High School by a score of 56-52.

The Abington Senior High School boys’ basketball team is currently 9-2 overall, 4-2 in conference play. Their next game is Friday, December 29 against Chester High School.

Senior Jeremiah Lee (pictured above) was recently highlighted for Eastern Center for Arts and Technology’s Community Service Month. He has received basketball scholarship offers from Youngstown University, Gannon University, Indiana State University, and Kutztown University. 

On Friday, December 22, Kevin Addison-Anderson, Josiah Hutson, Osei Johnson, and Niles Tinsley combined for 55 points to give the Cheltenham High School boys’ basketball team a 61-48 victory over Plymouth Whitemarsh.

The Panthers’ seventh straight victory gives them an 8-1 overall record going into 2024. Cheltenham is undefeated (6-0) in league play and are giving up only 42 points per game. Only two opposing teams have scored over 50 points against them this season.

Their next game is a home non-league contest against Philly’s Murrell Dobbins Vocational High School on January 3.

The Panthers will play the Ghosts on Saturday, January 6 at 12:30pm in Abington.
