Abington alum, co-founder of two recycling businesses in Philly, feat. by PHL17 for National Recycling Day

Danielle Ruttenberg Grugan, a graduate of Abington Senior High School, was featured by PHL17‘s National Recyling Day coverage for her recycle-friendly businesses.

Ruttenberg helped launch Remark Glass in 2016 “to change the course of glassblowing and design as much product from waste material as we can,” their website states. Bottle Underground, their nonprofit, came later after Ruttenberg’s team “saw a much greater need to solve the recycling issue at hand.”

Both entities are located in downtown Philadelphia and focus on creating new products out of recycled glassware.
