Abington Senior High School students and staff raised $58,529.52 for area pediatric cancer organizations at this year’s AbingTHON fundraiser.

“Special thanks to all who made it possible, including Abington alumni Eric Dixon and Lucas Monroe, who came back to offer their support and participate in activities with students!” the district said in a Facebook post.

In related news, the Abington Senior High Chess team finished in the top three in all three divisions at the state tournament in Harrisburg over the weekend.

The following players were recognized for their outstanding achievements: Sofi Ebora, Nathan Sharp, Camilo Zapata, Eli Kleiman, Noah Hellerslia, Kareem Trickey, Nathan Schneider, Alex Jazexhiu, Joseph Clark, Andria Hatton, and Isabelle Fielder.
