Arcadia University’s 33rd annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, from 4:00pm – 8:00pm in Grey Towers Castle.
Empty Bowl draws attention to food and housing insecurity. More than 1,000 ceramic bowls of all shapes, sizes, and colors are created by community members each year, and are used as soup bowls for dinner. The bowls can be taken home to serve as a reminder that for many people around the world, an empty bowl is the reality of their mealtime.

The Glenside community is invited to take part in the fundraiser.
Tickets are $15 for General Admission – kids under 3 are free. Participants will receive a locally made, handmade bowl and endless food (soup and bread) and are encouraged to bring a personal hygiene product donation to be distributed through The Pantry.

In related news, the Arcadia University Pro Bono Clinic is holding their annual fundraiser on campus on November 7.
From the announcement:
On Saturday, Nov. 7, beginning at 11am, the Pro Bono Clinic will host its annual fundraiser on Arcadia’s Glenside campus, inviting students, faculty, staff, alumni, friends, and supporters to come together for a 5K run and 1 mile walk in support of the clinic and the community it serves.
With the support of Arcadia University Public Safety, participants will make their way around the Glenside campus for an event designed to celebrate community, movement, and a shared commitment to service. The track will be plotted out with signs around Arcadia University’s campus, and each runner will complete three laps of the course, which is fairly flat with some hills and inclines. The walker finish will be at the flags near the Haber Green.
In previous years, supporters of the AUPBC participated in the Philadelphia Marathon as part of the clinic’s annual fundraising initiative; in 2025, the initiative raised nearly $40,000 for the clinic. This support has allowed the AUPBC to stay open an additional three weeks and has funded the Group Wellness Class to operate for a year, which costs $10,000 alone.
This year, the AUPBC is building on that momentum, while the premise remains the same: move together for a cause that matters. Hosting the event at Arcadia transforms the fundraiser into more than a race; it creates an engagement opportunity for those who make up the University to gather on the Glenside campus and directly support the Pro Bono Clinic’s work.
Since 2021, the AUPBC has been a trusted resource for neighbors who might otherwise go without physical therapy care. Through more than 3,385 free patient visits, the clinic has helped uninsured and underinsured community members, in Montgomery County and the surrounding areas, access more than $231,000 in healthcare services at no cost. That commitment extends beyond the clinic walls: the AUPBC helps patients overcome transportation barriers so they can make it to appointments and offers specialized group exercise classes for individuals recovering from stroke. At the same time, Arcadia Doctor of Physical Therapy students gain meaningful, hands-on experience by working alongside faculty to care for and build relationships with the community they serve.
