Rochell Lindsay, 56, and Christopher Linder, 56, of Philadelphia, were arrested on August 28 for stealing 34 spools of wire worth $32,289.46 from an HVAC contractor working at the Lowe’s at 4055 Welsh Road in Willow Grove.
According to a criminal complaint, Arris Construction employees reported to Upper Moreland police on the morning of May 8 that wire was missing from their trailer parked behind the nearby Sam’s Club.
Police recovered four surveillance videos from the nearby Bobs Discount Furniture Asset Protection Team which showed Lindsay and her husband, Linder, loading the spools into a 2014 silver Ford F150 half cab. The pair stole 15 black wrapped communication wire, 15 thin gray wrapped sensor wire, and four large gray wrapped CO2 sensor wire, the complaint said.
After being confronted and questioned by police, Linder and Lindsay voluntarily met with officers to discuss the theft investigation on August 23, the complaint said. During those conversations, Lindsay “became visibly upset, was crying, and stated something to the effect that ‘my life is ruined'”.
Lindsay and Linder have been charged with felony theft by unlawful taking. Lindsay has also been charged with conspiracy.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
