Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele announced today that ten defendants have been charged following a months-long narcotics investigation that uncovered a drug trafficking organization responsible for distributing cocaine and marijuana throughout Montgomery County and surrounding areas.
Charged are Sean Scott, 52, Marvin Scott, 29, Albert Ball, 58, Craig Cole, 59, all of Norristown, Brandynne Gardner, 43, Kevin Ringgold, 43, both of King of Prussia, Steven Anthony, 48, of East Norriton, Matthew McCarthy, 47, of Royersford, Zakery Wilson, 40, of Devon and Andre Young, 45, of Ridley Park.
The investigation began in March 2026 after law enforcement received information identifying Sean Scott as a cocaine and marijuana distributor operating in Norristown. The Montgomery County Detective Bureau, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Upper Merion Township Police Department, Delaware County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division, Ridley Park Police Department, Chester County District Attorney’s Office, Tredyffrin Township Police Department and Clearwater Police Department in Florida conducted multiple controlled purchases, court-authorized wire intercepts, physical and electronic surveillance, GPS tracking, and search warrants to identify members of the drug trafficking organization and document their roles in the distribution of cocaine and marijuana throughout Montgomery County.
Throughout the investigation, detectives found that Steven Anthony and Sean Scott were principal distributors of cocaine and marijuana, supplying customers and other dealers throughout Montgomery County and surrounding areas. Gardner served as a higher-level source, facilitator and organizer who connected customers with suppliers, and arranged access to larger quantities of cocaine and marijuana. Detectives also found that Wilson and Cole played roles in the acquisition, storage, packaging, transportation and distribution acquisition, storage, packaging, transportation and distribution of the drugs, while Ball, McCarthy, Marvin Scott, Ringgold, and Young were involved in the sub-distribution of the illegal drugs.
The organization trafficked drugs from residences and storage units throughout Montgomery County. Investigators also identified a location in Devon, Chester County, that was used to store, package, label and prepare bulk marijuana for distribution.
Multiple search warrants were executed between July and August 2026. The execution of those warrants resulted in the seizure of more than 250 pounds of marijuana, 7.5 ounces of cocaine, 12 firearms, approximately $110,000 in U.S. currency and other evidence of drug trafficking.
“The success of this investigation is a direct result of the collaboration and dedication of the law enforcement agencies involved,” said DA Steele. “This type of cooperation is essential, and the coordinated efforts of our local, county, state and federal partners were instrumental in disrupting this organization and taking significant quantities of illegal drugs and firearms off our streets.”
The charges vary by defendant but include Corrupt Organizations, Conspiracy, Possession With Intent to Deliver Controlled Substances, Criminal Use of a Communication Facility, and related offenses. Gardner and Steven Anthony were also charged with Persons Not to Possess Firearms.
On August 5, Anthony, Ball and McCarthy were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Katherine E. McGill, who set Anthony’s bail at $250,000 cash, Ball at $99,000 cash and McCarthy at $50,000 cash, and they were remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. At a bail review hearing on Aug. 6, 2026, bail for Anthony and McCarthy remained unchanged, while Ball’s bail was reduced to $50,000 cash.
On August 6, Gardner and Wilson were arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Hakim K. Jones, who set Gardner’s bail at $100,000 cash and Wilson’s bail at $25,000 cash, and they were remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility. At a bail review hearing on August 7, bail for Gardner and Wilson remained unchanged.
On August 10, Marvin Scott was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge John I. McMahon, who set bail at $10,000 unsecured.
On August 23, with assistance from the Clearwater Police Department, Sean Scott was apprehended in Florida and is awaiting extradition.
For those arraigned, a preliminary hearing has been scheduled for September 21 before Magisterial District Judge Patrick O. Krouse. Arrest warrants have been issued for Cole, Ringgold, and Young.
All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
