Glenside resident, STEM teacher named a Fulbright Scholar

Press Release:

Dr. Megan Stotz, a Technology Integration Specialist and STEM teacher at Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, and a resident of Glenside, has been accepted into the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program. Becoming a Fulbright Scholar is a highly selective professional learning experience through the United States Department of Education.

“Through the Fulbright program, I will participate in specialized professional development focused on global education, collaboration, and culturally responsive teaching,” said Dr. Stotz. “I will also have the opportunity to complete an international teaching experience alongside educators and students in another country towards the end of the school year. I look forward to bringing new perspectives, resources, and international connections back to NFA and sharing what I learn throughout this experience.”

Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program participants are selected through an open, nationwide competition. Applications are evaluated on overall quality, the applicant’s qualifications, the benefit of the program for both the applicant and the applicant’s school, and clear demonstration of educational leadership.

“I am deeply grateful to represent NFA through the Fulbright Program, and I look forward to keeping you updated as I learn more about my placement and begin this exciting journey,” said Dr. Stotz.

“Dr. Stotz’s achievement reflects the spirit of curiosity, global awareness and educational excellence that defines Norwood-Fontbonne Academy,” said Bridget Bonner, President of NFA. “We are incredibly proud of her and look forward to the experiences and perspectives that she will bring back to our students and the community.”
