Two townships and one borough in greater Glenside will receive funds through Pennsylvania’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, Governor Josh Shapiro announced today.
The investments—$54 million across 27 counties—are intended to improve safety, strengthen local economies, and enhance mobility across the state.
Cheltenham Township will receive $2,792,000 to replace the Tookany Creek Parkway bridge near Carter Lane.
Lower Moreland Township will receive $1.2 million for transportation improvements to support the development of the new Fetter’s Mill Fire Rescue Station.
Lastly, Rockledge Borough will receive $77,189 for the repaving of two streets in the borough.
“When we invest in safer roads, bridges, ports, and transit, we’re creating jobs, strengthening local economies, and making it easier for people to get where they need to go — whether that’s to work, school, or a small business on Main Street,” Governor Shapiro said in a statement. “These projects connect communities across the Commonwealth and keep Pennsylvania moving forward safely and efficiently, no matter how they get around.”
Applications for the next funding round will be accepted starting September 14, officials said.
