Le Onde Ristorante in Elkins Park temporarily shut down in late May (thought their Google listing has them as permanently closed).

Ownership told Glenside Local that while a firm reopening timeline is not yet available, the restaurant is in the process of creating a new menu and has taken on a new chef.

“We have a new chef from Italy so we’re going to start doing things a little differently,” owner Stephen said. “It’s going to be much better than before. We’re working on a new menu. I know a lot of people miss us.”

Stephen said he will provide updates once he has a concrete reopening date, which he said “could be sooner or later.”

The restaurant made headlines last May when Bajram Begaj, the current president of Albania, stopped by to honor Le Onde’s executive chef Arthur, a fellow Albanian who recently won a prestigious culinary award.
