The Philadelphia Flyers’ 10th annual Community Caravan is coming to Jenkintown’s Town Square on Monday, August 31 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
The promotional campaign has made stops this summer in Voorhees, Cape May, Mays Landing and Ocean City, New Jersey, and will visit Exton on August 19.
From the caravan’s description:
Fans can look forward to a lineup of exclusive Flyers-themed giveaways, including Gritty beach towels, reusable tote bags, visors, slim koozies, phone hippers, and Gritty memo pads. Each stop will feature appearances by the Flyers own In-Arena Host Everett Jackson, Flyers Alumni, the Flyers Ice Team, and Gritty! At select stops along the Caravan, fans will also have the opportunity to shop official Flyers apparel and novelties at the Flyers merch pop-up.
Borough manager George Locke told Glenside Local The Keep Easy, Human Robot Jenkintown, and J-Town Market will be vendors for the Jenkintown event.
“Their caravan has been going all over, down the shore and up this way. They come in and do a big promotion with vendors. We reached out to local restaurants to be involved,” he said. “We’re expecting the official flyers soon.”
Locke noted that Melissa Hager, owner of the Keep Easy Meadery, is going to make a Gritty-inspired beverage for the day.
The borough is currently seeking local food vendors to set up a stations/tents during the festivities. If interested, you can email Meredith Gans at mgans@jenkintownboro.com.
