The Honor and Courage Foundation of Warminster will host the “No One Left Behind Walk” from 11:00am – 2:30pm on Saturday, September 12 in Hatboro.

The foundation serves First Responders, active-duty military, and veterans on a national level by providing treatment that alleviates the effects of Post Traumatic Stress and helps to halt Post Traumatic Stress-induced suicide. 

Heather Sliwinski, the foundation’s CEO and founder, told Glenside Local that the fundraiser will include a DJ, raffles, hot dogs courtesy of the Pacitti Brothers, and face painting for the kids. The walk begins in Miller Meadow, heads north up York Road toward Daddy Pops Diner, and then returns to Miller Meadow.

A guest speaker, Bernadette Wilkinson, a local gold-star mother who lost her son, an air force active-duty member, to suicide will be in attendance as well. All proceeds will go to the foundation’s programs in support of veterans and First Responders’ mental health, Sliwinski said.

“I’ve been working with this population for over 20 years. People are always falling through the cracks, and some of our programs are changing and saving veterans’ and First Responders’ lives. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is get people in the door for therapy,” she said. “Honor and Courage helps to facilitate those treatments. We’ve flown people in from all over the country. It’s giving them hope.”

A mother of six, Sliwinski said she decided to launch the 501-C3 organization with her son, a marine, in 2011 as the wars in the Middle East were winding down. You can learn more about the foundation’s origins in the video below:
