PennDOT announced today that three municipalities across greater Glenside will receive funds through the Commonwealth’s Green Light-Go Program.
The funds are expected to improve traffic safety and mobility by reducing congestion and improving traffic flow. Green Light-Go grants are provided as reimbursements to municipalities for projects that improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals and are included in the FY 2026–27 budget.
Below is the list of projects in our area:
- Cheltenham Township: $990,420 for traffic signal modernization at the intersection of Township Line Road and Washington Lane, and controller and vehicle detection upgrades at the intersection of Township Line Road and Breyer Drive.
- Jenkintown Borough: $261,120 for traffic signal modernization at the intersection of Walnut Street and Runnymede Avenue.
- Lower Moreland Township: $268,307.20 to complete a full modernization of the traffic signal equipment at the intersection of Welsh Road and Pine Road.
