Anthony Shalamov, a Hatboro resident since 2011 and owner of the forthcoming Casa de Fehu at 482 Jacksonville Road in Hatboro, is hoping for a soft opening sometime in October.

Construction for the 1600 sf first floor space began in February 2025 and is now complete. Shalamov said he purchased the building—previously owned by H & N Lauterio and which includes a second- and third-floor apartment—in December 2024. His wife, Anastasia De Roy, has been at the center of the renovations.

Future customers can expect a lively atmosphere, upscale decor, and European-style cuisine.

“Our menu will depend on the chef’s creativity. Basically, good meat, good seafood, things like that,” Shalamov told Glenside Local. “The location is great. The borough is trying to bring the neighborhood into a better position, and we hope to help that progress along. A lot of people who want good food have to travel to other towns. I want to bring a nice atmosphere and good food to Hatboro.”

While the interior’s final touches are still in the works, the bathroom offers guests a rotating larger-than-life LED experience. A few examples are below:

Casa de Fehu will be able to seat roughly 50 inside. Ownership is hoping to be approved for outdoor seating next season.

“The atmosphere has to be pleasant. I want people to enjoy themselves inside and outside. We don’t have a lot of places with outdoor dining in this area,” Shalamov said, noting that his fingers are crossed for a pending beer and wine license.

“Bring your bottle and we’ll make you a matching mocktail. Customers can make it into a cocktail,” he said. “We’re also hoping to have drafts on tap from the borough-based breweries.”
