Elkins Park resident publishes open letter to Rep. Dean, Senators McCormick and Fetterman regarding President Trump’s Board of Peace | Dean discusses Trump’s ‘War on Fraud’ with MS Now

An individual described as “A verified voter in Elkins Park” published an open letter to Representative Madeleine Dean of Glenside on Tuesday, April 7. Senators Dave McCormick and John Fetterman are listed as addressees as well.

From the letter:

If the State Department transferred millions into Trump’s pockets via his Board of Peace, Congress needs to unwind this transaction and clawback those funds. Seeing how corrupt this government has been under Trump (both times), I believe it likely is true. I urge Congress to reign in this President and reclaim the power of the purse. Shame on you if you don’t.

President Trump established the Board of Peace by executive order earlier this year to oversee the planned reconstruction of Gaza. The letter is referencing the $1.25 billion which was redirected from the State Department to the Board, according to a report published by Semafor.com in March.

According to their coverage, the money was intended to fund disaster relief and peacekeeping operations but is now being used to help fulfill Trump’s pledge to provide more than $1 billion for the Board.

“Of the State Department money, officials pulled $1 billion from international disaster assistance; $200 million from peacekeeping operations; and $50 million from international organizations and programs,” Semafor wrote.
