The following school districts in greater Glenside have announced that schools will be closed on Monday, January 26.
Abington School District

Abington School District schools and offices will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026, due to inclement weather.
Cheltenham School District
From the district’s website:
The Cheltenham School District schools and offices will be closed Monday, January 26, 2026, due to the storm impacting our area. Forecasted snow, sleet, and ice are expected to significantly affect road conditions. Monday will be a traditional snow day. All school buildings will be closed, and all activities are canceled. No transportation will be provided.
Administration will continue to monitor weather conditions, and is hopeful schools will return to normal operations as soon as possible. Any change in normal operations will be communicated through our usual channels prior to the start of the school day on Tuesday.
Jenkintown School District
From Jenkintown School District’s announcement:
In light of the pending winter storm and in coordination with Jenkintown Borough’s snow emergency declaration, Jenkintown School District will be closed on Monday, January 26th.
This decision was made with the safety of our students, staff, and families as our top priority, particularly given anticipated hazardous travel conditions.
Please note the following:
All district-sponsored activities, athletics, and events scheduled for Monday are canceled.
There will be no in-person or virtual instruction on this day.
As previously shared, this day will be made up on Tuesday, May 26th.
Only essential personnel will be permitted in district buildings.
We will continue to monitor conditions and will communicate any additional updates as needed. Families are encouraged to monitor district email and our website for further information.

Springfield Township School District

The School District’s schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026 due to the snowstorm. In order to allow our operations team to safely and completely clear and treat all parking lots and sidewalks, the community is requested NOT to access any of our campuses through the end of the evening on Monday. Please stay safe and warm through the storm!
Upper Moreland School District

Due to the winter storm impacting our area, all Upper Moreland schools and offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, January 26, 2026. Additionally, all after-school activities are canceled.

Lower Moreland School District
