The Glenside Celtic Soccer Club’s Winter Academy has been in full swing since January 5.
The academy includes 200 players registered within the club’s 18 travel teams (and an additional 17 in the Wee Kicks program designed for 5–7-year-olds) and is led by Coach Joel and Coach Siafa from Fuel Tech Soccer.
Tom Clark, Director of Coaching, said the academy has some of the best trainers in the area.
“Different from our regular team coaches, the trainers from Fuel Tech are specific to technical skill development, something that often gets rushed or pushed aside at clubs, but essential to playing the game,” Clark said, highlighting the combination of coaches from Joel Richmond to the head coaches of both Jenkintown and Abington Boys soccer teams, Siafa Dempster and Issac Pitkow.

“The Winter Academy is truly a milestone for the growth of our club and the development of our players. Our players are extremely fortunate to get training of this quality and we are happy to be able to provide it for them at an affordable price,” he said. “This is elite training at a grassroots club, something we’ve worked hard on to make happen, but also keeping it loose and fun as it should be. There’s never been a better time to join Celtic.”
