Hatboro officials announced today that demolition for the West Moreland Avenue bridge project is now underway.
The bridge passes over the Pennypack Creek and is located on West Moreland Avenue between Flamingo Road (Upper Moreland) and Broad Street (Hatboro).
The contractor, H&K Group, is expected to post the PennDOT-approved detour on January 12. Demolition of the bridge is expected to begin shortly thereafter.
Once demolition begins, the bridge will be closed to all vehicles and pedestrians at that time and remain in place through the completion of the project. The project is expected to be completed by December 2027, according to a county notice.
