SPS Technologies announced today that Highland Avenue in the Jenkintown section of Abington Township, shut down since the fire on February 17, will reopen to traffic between Mt. Carmel Avenue and Wharton Road on Monday, April 28.

SPS Technologies will employ flaggers when necessary to allow movement of materials across Highland Avenue from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Traffic is expected to move normally from 7:00pm to 7:00am.

“For your safety, please remain outside the fenced area surrounding the property,” the notice said. “Only authorized people should try to access the property/building.”

The notice also mentioned that the “reclamation process is underway, and SPS is developing its plan for future demolition work at the site. Information will be shared to keep the community informed on the demolition plan.”
