Snipes, a national shoe store with a location in Wyncote, selected a local family for a Christmas shopping spree after learning of the untimely passing of April Burch, a mother of eight and a community activist, FOX29 reported.

According to the story, this is the first Christmas since Burch’s passing. Her children have been living with other family members and their fathers. Each received a $250 gift card.

“What we’re doing for this family today falls under our community initiative, Dream Maker, during the holiday season, trying to make special moments happen,” Community Impact Manager of Snipes, Taylor Rodriguez said.
