Jenkintown Borough may see its first sushi-plus-taco shop in the near future.

Borough manager George Locke said he recently signed a permit for an entity listed as “El Tacos Locos” to open at 408/410 York Road.

408/410 York Road is the home of Oishi Sushi, an Asian fusion restaurant which opened in July 2023. According to Locke, ownership has decided to expand their menu.

“They described it as tacos and hot food, and also sushi. The word is that the sushi chef may be bringing in someone to help with the taco part of the shop,” Locke said. “It’s going to be a business change in name.”

Ownership previously expressed to Glenside Local that business has been slow. We will be in touch as we learn more.
