Springfield man pleads guilty to photographing nude juvenile girl, possessing child pornography

Daniel C. McIntyre, 40, of the 100 block of Erdenheim Road in the Flourtown section of Springfield Township, has pleaded guilty to felony charges of creating and possessing child pornography and corruption of a minor following incidents that occurred between 2022 and 2023, Mainline Media News reported today.

According to the article, McIntyre faces a possible maximum sentence of 13.5 to 27 years in prison and will be evaluated by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board to determine if he will be classified as a sexually violent predator.

The investigation began in October 2022 when the mother of a 13-year-old girl reported concerns to Springfield Township police regarding her daughter’s relationship with McIntyre, who had provided the girl with a cellphone.

A search of the cellphone revealed dozens of photos of the girl in various stages of nudity, all of which were taken in the bedroom of McIntyre’s Flourtown residence. A subsequent search of McIntyre’s cellphone uncovered accounts which were used to message the 13-year-old girl as well as several child sexual abuse images of females between the ages of 3 and 13, the article said.

A search of McIntyre’s laptop computer and the computer hard drives revealed hundreds of images and videos of child sexual abuse material, including depictions of toddlers and infants.
