Villanova University announced today that redshirt senior Eric Dixon, a 2019 graduate of Abington Senior High School, will serve a one-game NCAA suspension for impermissible participation in an event last spring.

According to the announcement, Dixon took part in April’s Portsmouth Invitational as he explored his options as part of the National Basketball Association Draft process. The suspension will be served in Villanova’s regular season opener on Monday, November 4 vs. Lafayette.

In May, Dixon said that he would remove his name from the NBA Draft and return to Villanova for his final season of eligibility in 2024-25.
