Multiple crews led by McKinley Fire Company of Elkins Park were dispatched at 4:40am today to Barrowdale Road (Abington Township) for a reported garage fire.
According to officials, crews found a detached garage fully involved and called for a full response with mutual aid.
Crews were able to quickly contain the fire to the garage with only minor extension to the residence. All occupants were able to escape the home and no injuries to responders were reported.
Fire marshals from Lower Moreland and Cheltenham Townships aided in the investigation. The following companies lent mutual aid:
