Melrose Park Station ticket office closing in February

Melrose Park Station’s ticket office will be permanently closing on February 2.

The station at 900 Valley Road, Cheltenham Township will still receive riders and trains, but the building which sells tickets will be shut down.

A resident posted SEPTA’s notice at the ticket agent window which reads: “Due to the wide array of alternate purchase options, this sales location will no longer be active.”

The station waiting area will stay open for seating, restrooms, and other amenities.

Glenside Local has reached out to SEPTA for details twice in the last week. Representatives had not heard anything about the building’s closure but said they would get back to us with information. No updates have been provided as of yet. Stay tuned.
