Woman sentenced for DUI, causing fatal crash in Cheltenham

Kaitlyn E. Dilemmo, 33, of Doylestown, has been sentenced to nine to 23 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to the June 6, 2022, crash in Cheltenham Township that killed 77-year-old Jacqueline Kovach of Philadelphia.

Kovach died on August 18, 2022 from injuries sustained in the crash. Dilemmo was found lying on the roadway after having been ejected from her vehicle and was transported to Abington Jefferson Hospital for treatment.

At Abington Jefferson Hospital, a nurse packaging Dilemmo’s personal property found seven baggies of fentanyl stamped with “Fly High” and a pteranodon, along with four empty baggies, which were suspected to have previously contained fentanyl. A urine sample from Dilemmo tested positive for fentanyl.

According to The Pottstown Mercury, Dilemmo admitted she was driving under the influence of alcohol, but not fentanyl, the original charge.

Brian Kovach, the victim’s husband, spoke during the trial about his wife of 55 years. Joshua Kovach, Brian and Jacqueline’s son, said his mother was on her way to a doctor’s appointment at the time of the crash.

“I am so sorry to everybody,” Dilemmo said before adding that she’s been fighting an addiction.
