Arcadia University in Glenside to host screening of ‘Quentin Morris’ (2018) by filmmaker Brice Goldberg followed by a discussion with Goldberg and Morris

Arcadia University will host a screening of the 2018 documentary film Quentin Morris on Wednesday, September 6 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the Spruance Art Gallery, 450 S. Easton Road.

Goldberg and Morris will lead audiences in a discussion after the screening. The Spruance Gallery is currently hosting Morris’ exhibition “Quentin Morris: Works on Paper” which will be open for tours. The exhibit features over 30 examples from a 5-decade practice dedicated to the production of monochromatic works.

“I’m exploring monochromatic painting, exclusively black…to present black’s intrinsically enigmatic beauty and infinite depth [and] to relentlessly refute all negative cultural mythologies about the color, and ultimately to create work that innately expresses the all encompassing spirituality of life,” the Philadelphia-based artist said.

The event is free and open to all. Refreshments will be provided. For more on Morris, you can click here.
