Arcadia University, Penn State Abington welcome first-year students to campus

First-year students moved into Penn State Abington student housing on Friday, August 18 and Arcadia University’s first-years will arrive on campus in droves on Wednesday, August 23.

The incoming Class of 2027 at Arcadia includes students from 23 states and several countries around the world. Of the over 500 students moving in, 44% are first-generation college students, 10% have a primary language that is not English, and 35% are recruited student-athletes.

According to an Arcadia staff member, the incoming class’s total of 425 students is down from 2022’s total of 496 students.

On Saturday, Arcadia’s students will be on campus for the first community service project of the year, packaging 25,000 meals with Rise Against Hunger.

PSU Abington’s Lions Gate student apartment community, on Old Road across from the township library, is home to more than 400 students who are supported by resident assistants and full-time professional staff.
