Glenside, Weldon fire companies oust housefire, multiple companies participate in training exercises

The Weldon Fire Company’s Engine 303 assisted the Glenside Fire Company with a housefire on Cobden Road shortly before 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 9. Glenside Local will be in touch with more details as they become available.

On Monday evening, the Glenside Fire Company participated in training exercises with Oreland Volunteer Fire Company and Wyndmoor Hose.

From the Company’s Facebook post:

Last night, members from GFC participated in two separate trainings. A crew of 8 firefighters joined Oreland Volunteer Fire Company and Wyndmoor Hose at the Montgomery County Fire Academy to participate in a structural burn session. These members were able to practice skills such as fire suppression and search & rescue in a controlled environment involving live fire.

The 12 firefighters that did not attend the burn session stayed at the firehouse to train on Engine 1’s front bumper line in order to sharpen their skills with the unique hoseline and cover the area fire companies attending the fire academy training. Thank you to stations 700 and 82 for inviting us to the fire academy!
