Bishop McDevitt High School, a college preparatory school in Wyncote is having an open house on Tuesday, April 17, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. This is a great night for parents and students to tour the school, meet teachers, and current students.
McDevitt also offers shadowing days for 7th and 8th grade students on Tuesdays or Wednesdays (calendar permitting) throughout the school year. This will allow your daughter or son to get a true feel of the school. The students can request a friend or have a student chosen for them based on similar interests. The shadow will follow a typical schedule of a McDevitt student and will received a free lunch supplied by the school. Classes may also include Spanish, Art, Gym Band, Tech, Labs and more.
There is a practice exam for 7th graders coming up this Saturday, March 24 at 9:00 a.m. This is a great way to prepare your child for next fall’s entrance exam.
For the last two years, both senior classes at Bishop McDevitt, have each received over $25 million in college scholarships. The students now attend such schools as Villanova, Temple University, Drexel, Bloomsburg, Penn State, Loyola, University of Pennsylvania and many more.
