The Provincial Council of the Sisters of Saint Basil the Great has announced that it will close Saint Basil Academy in Jenkintown after the 2020-2021 school year. According to an article in The Philadelphia Inquirer, the school was unsuccessful in a fundraising campaign last year to establish an endowment, increase annual giving, and increase enrollment. The school was established in 1931.

A “Save St. Basil’s Academy” Facebook Group has been created and the group looks to raise funds to save the school.
