28 years ago today, the Meadowbrook train station, 1430 Old Valley Road, Jenkintown, burned to the ground.
On April 18, 1995, a fire began around 5:00am and was described by officials as “suspicious.” At the time, the building had also housed the Meadowbrook Post Office.

The station was later rebuilt with a bus stop-style facility that now functions as the waiting area, pictured here:

Historical documents state that the station was once known as Paul Brook Station during the early development of the community and was maintained by the Old York Road Historical Society.
