The 20th annual “Gobble Wobble,” also known as the YMCA Thanksgiving 5K, will take place on November 23 at the Abington ELC (former YMCA), 1073 Old York Road in Abington Township.

The event began in 2003 with about 200 people running through the streets of Jenkintown. It has since grown to four suburban YMCA locations with more than 2,700 participants.

Each year the community staple sees families run together as the local community puts out lawn chairs and cowbells. The event also raises roughly $200,000 for the YMCA’s scholarship fund. The fun allows anyone who wants to attend YMCA programs, receive childcare or enroll kids in sports to do so at no cost.
