Abington Township will hold a Conditional Use Hearing on Wednesday, November 29 at 6:30pm to discuss the proposed life care facility and nursing home at 1209 Rydal Road.
The hearing is a continuation from last month’s discussion and will take place at Penn State Abington’s Sutherland Building Auditorium located at 1600 Woodland Road.
The Board of Commissioners plan to take action during the hearing. Residents can join the meetings virtually here (Meeting ID: 872-2913-7195).
In related news, the developers of the Faulkner Nissan Jenkintown at 900 Old York Road will request variances from Abington Township’s Zoning Hearing Board during a special meeting scheduled for 7:00pm in the Township Municipal Meeting.
JJLH Associates LTD, which manages the property, is asking for the following variances for Ward 7’s Business Center Zoning District:
a. A Variance from Ordinance §2208.2.D.3 to allow a wall sign for the dealership name that exceeds by one square-foot the 30 square-foot limitation;
b. A Variance from Ordinance §2212.D to allow the total permitted wall signage to be divided between more than 2 signs on the same wall;
c. A Variance from Ordinance Figure 22.22 to allow a monument sign that has a height of 18 feet 10 inches, where the Ordinance limits height to a maximum of 10 feet;
d. A Variance from Ordinance Figure 22.22 to allow a monument sign to be located 10 feet from the property line, where the Ordinance requires a minimum distance of 20 feet.
e. A Variance from Ordinance §2211.G to allow a replacement wall sign 1.25 square feet larger than ¾ of the area of two signs being removed;
f. A Variance from Ordinance §2211.G to allow a replacement wall sign 26 square feet larger than ¾ of the area of two signs being removed;
g. A Variance from Ordinance §2211.G to allow a replacement wall sign 2.5 square feet larger than ¾ of the area of two signs being removed; and
h. A Variance from Ordinance §2103.A, Use A-13.1 to allow the construction of an eight-foot-high fence along the rear property line.
