11U/13U Abington Raiders to play for Bux-Mont Youth League championship on Nov 2

The 11U Abington Raiders, now 9-0, are heading to the Bux-Mont Youth League championship game on Saturday, November 2 at 2:00pm at Marsh Creek’s turf field in Chester Springs.

Head coach Don Watkins is looking to defend last year’s title against a familiar opponent: the Lower Perk Longhorns.

“We won 31-6 last weekend, so it was good for our kids to adjust. They played a great second half,” Watkins said. “We played the Longhorns last year and won 18-13 in the championship game. We beat them in overtime in Week 2 25-24 earlier this season, so it’ll be a tough battle. We’ve been playing each other for years. The more physical team will win the ballgame.”

If the Raiders win, they move on to a Regionals playoff game on November 16.

In related news, the 13U Black will also have a rematch with Lower Perk for the Bux-Mont title (also at Marsh Creek), and the 10U team has a rematch with Enon for a chance to play for the title next weekend.
