Abington, Cheltenham, Jenkintown, Springfield, Upper Moreland to serve as drop-locations for Drug Take Back Day on Saturday

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office announced that 45 locations will serve as drop-off spots for the nationwide Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

The event allows residents to rid their homes of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, officials said.

Locations in our area include:

  • Abington Township Police Department, 1166 Old York Rd., Abington
  • Cheltenham Police Department, 8230 Old York Rd., Elkins Park
  • Jenkintown Police, 700 Summit Ave., Jenkintown
  • Upper Dublin Township Police Department, 520 Virginia Drive, Fort Washington
  • Upper Moreland Township Police Department, 117 Park Avenue, Willow Grove

Accepted drop-offs include prescription and over-the-counter tablets and capsules, inhalers, creams, ointments, nasal sprays, pet medicines and vaping products. Not accepted are needles, liquid medications and intravenous or injectable solutions.

Since the Drug Take Back program began in 2010, more than 119,000 pounds of medicines have been collected and safely disposed of, officials said.
